Day #326 - Gratitude Miracles
The Presence - A Devotional for living in Thanksgiving, Worship and Wonder
“And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan. So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.””
Luke 17:15-19 NKJV
Have you heard the phrase, “don’t ask for more until you finish what you have?”
I think a lot of parents have probably said something like this. It was the type of thing I would here at the dinner table when I hadn’t finished my food yet. I was taught the importance of manners. I learned how to say please and thank you. It’s amazing how far gratitude and appreciation can get you in life.
My parents aren’t the only ones who appreciate gratitude. Jesus is moved by gratitude. In Luke 17, Jesus was passing by when ten lepers cried out to be healed. He told them to go show themselves to the priests and as they went they were cleansed. But only one of them upon seeing He was healed, went back to thank Jesus and bow before Him. Jesus acknowledged his act of worship.
This one thankful and former leper received some kind of wellness or wholeness (the KJV says he was made whole) that the others missed out on. It appears that all ten got cleansed and healed of their leprosy but this man’s gratitude released some kind of blessing the others missed out on. And the greatest blessing was that He got to fellowship in “the Presence” of our Lord.
When we show gratitude and practice thanksgiving we move the heart of Jesus. Of course, we should come to Him with no agenda but to worship and thank Him. But when we do, He loves to bless us and work miracles in our lives. Gratitude releases the miraculous.
Whatever level of breakthrough or blessing we have received we ought to thank the Lord and worship at His feet. Being thankful brings us near Him and anything is possible with Jesus. For all that He is done, He is worthy of our praise and thanks. May we come before Him.
Jesus, thank You, thank you, thank you for touching my life and making me whole. I am grateful You cleansed me and called me to Yourself. I love You! You are the greatest thing in my life. I want to live for Your glory! In Jesus name, amen.

This was a wonderful writing!
