Day #297 - Let’s Go
The Presence - A Devotional for living in Thanksgiving, Worship and Wonder
“I rejoiced with those who said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.””
Psalms 122:1 NIV
Whose house is your favorite place to go and have fun for a party?
My wife is a favorite for a party. Before we were married she was affectionately nicknamed the party thief by her friends because if she left one party for another location, people would leave with her. Even now after us being married all these years she can gather a crowd. Her nephew once made up a song that went, “going to auntie’s house, going to auntie’s house…” People are happy to party and celebrate with my wife.
King David starts out Psalm 122 that he is rejoicing with those who said, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.” There is a spirit of joy and celebration to go to God’s house. David is not just rejoicing alone, he is rejoicing with those who love to be in the house of the Lord.
The corporate presence of the Lord comes upon us when we are together as God’s people to enjoy Him. There is a place for solemn encounters with the Lord but there is also a place for us to gather in great rejoicing. Each corporate worship service ought to be a celebration of who God is to us.
We should have an excitement each week about coming together with the church for worship and celebration. We should have a sense of anticipation and excitement as if going to a party. Our worship in the house of the Lord is an overflow of what God has done in our personal lives. Worship is a time of rejoicing where our lives and thanksgiving converge together as one sound.
Corporate worship is not a duty it’s a delight for those who love the Lord and have learned to rejoice! Our corporate worship brings us joy because we love Jesus and we love being with those who rejoice in loving Him too! Our hearts are full when we hear some say, “let’s go to God’s house!”
Lord Jesus, I love to worship in Your house with those who love You too! I rejoice in You! You are my delight. You are worthy of being celebrated. Thank you for Your people and getting to worship together. In Your name, amen.

I love to worship and rejoice in the Lord! He is my joy, my rock and my shield. There is no one like HIM. 🙏🏻♥️
For I Love You Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, and am Blessed to be part of Your Family!
