“Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.”

Do you know someone good at imitating voices?

Growing up I used to try and imitate voices of famous actors. I thought it was so cool to sound like someone else. My wife can do some vocie imitations pretty well. She can sound so perfectly like her Mom and her aunts. I know it might not seem that hard to sound like a blood relative, but she does it so perfectly it’s hilarious. As much as someone can sound like someone else, no two voices are exactly alike. 

The final Psalm in the Bible, Psalm 150, is all about praise! Praise the Lord in heaven and in His sanctuary. Praise Him for His acts and for His surpassing greatness. We are to praise Him with every instrument: horns, strings, drums and pipes. Everything that has breath is to praise the Lord!

Every instrument has a unique sound and everything and everyone wh has breath has a unique sound. The drums, the cymbals, the trumpet, the flute and the harp all have a certain breath. The many types of birds, the lions, the dogs, the cats, the frogs, the crickets and the seals all have a different sound from their breath. And every human has a unique language and a unique voice that brings a unique sound of praise to the Lord.

The whole earth can release a sound of praise that brings God glory and delight. Your sound of praise is unique from your breath. Everything that has breath and makes a sound can be used as an instrument of praise to celebrate our Creator and enjoy “the Presence.” Let us use our voice and every expression to praise God for who He is and what He does. He is worthy of all our praise!

Lord, let everything that has breath praise Your holy name! I praise You for Your mighty acts and for Your surpassing greatness! There is no one like You! I bring You joyful songs and celebratory sounds! You are worthy to be praised! I’m Jesus name, amen!
