Day #182 - Generous Outpouring
The Presence - A Devotional for living in Thanksgiving, Worship and Wonder
But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.
Titus 3:4-7 NIV
Have you ever had a refillable drink?
I remember when I was young that almost no restaurants had refillable drinks. I remember how my mind was blown when I was a kid and they told me I could have free refills. This generous outpouring amazed me as they brought me beverage after beverage. Now almost all restaurants have refillable coffee, tea or soda. If I go to eat at a place and they charge for each drink, I can hardly believe it.
In Christ, we experience a generous outpouring of the Holy Spirit. As we covered earlier in this, we can describe the Holy Spirt as God’s empowering presence in our lives (Gordon Fee). In Christ, we have received the generous outpouring of God’s empowering presence.
God’s kindness and love as our Savior has appeared. He has saved us. This is not by our righteous works, but by His mercy. Jesus saved us by the washing and renewal of the Holy Spirit who He poured out on us. The Holy Spirit is poured on us generously. The Holy Spirit is poured out over and over. There are continual refills available. His outpouring brings us an abundance. He is generous with giving us Himself!
We live with a lack of God’s presence by our own decision. God has been generous to us to pour out “the Presence.” He doesn’t hold back. How much of God do you want? We have everything we need because it is by grace that we are justified and become heirs who have the hope of eternal life. We are in with Him by grace. It is done and paid for, but are we living in the generous overflow of His presence?
Its’s time to receive all He has for us as He gives of Himself so generously.
God my Savior, You have been kind and You have loved me. You saved me not because of what I have done, but by Your mercy. You saved me through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. You have poured out Your Spirit, Your empowering presence, over my life with so much generosity. I want more of you. Thank you for Your grace. I receive of Your generosity. In Jesus name, amen.

The continual outpouring of His love and grace is unfathomable. I am awed and beyond blessed. ♥️🙏🏻
