Day #167 - Unveiled Faces
The Presence - A Devotional for living in Thanksgiving, Worship and Wonder
“We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to prevent the Israelites from seeing the end of what was passing away. But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
2 Corinthians 3:13-18 NIV
Have you ever had something that was once hidden, revealed to you?
Have you ever had an epiphany? Have you ever been in a moment where all of a sudden something clicked with you and it brought you great joy or freedom? I’ve had moments in prayer or the study of the Bible where something becomes very clear to me about the nature of God or the promises of God for me. These moments are incredibly transformational.
These moments are available to as as believers because of what Christ has done for us. Paul, in 2 Corinthians 3 says something astonishing. He compares the glory the believer in Jesus gets to behold as a greater glory than that of Moses. If you remember, Moses had an incredible encounter with the glory of God that made his face shine with such radiance that he had to wear a veil on his face afterwards. Moses had asked to see God’s glory and God let His goodness pass before Moses. Moses only had a glimpse of the back side of God’s glory and it created such a huge effect from the encounter. But when we come to God in Christ, the veil is taken off and we behold the Lord with an unveiled face.
The Christian life and being a person of “the Presence” is really about beholding the glory of the Lord. As we behold who the Lord is as we are in Christ, the Spirit of the Lord is doing a transformational work in our Iives. In this place, the Spirit brings us freedom and transforms us into Christ’s image with increasing glory (or as some translations say, from “glory to glory”).
One of the main components of Christian transformation is beholding the Lord and fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit as He brings us into freedom. There is wave after wave of the glory available to us. Yes, you may have experienced much of God’s glory, but there is an ever increasing glory for you. I want to go from glory to glory in the Spirit. We have a greater access than Moses. May we pray as Moses did and more, “Show me Your ever increasing glory and move me from glory to glory.”
“Spirit of the Lord, show me the glory of God. Show me Your ever increasing glory and move me from glory to glory. I am no longer veiled as I behold You, I am in Christ. Holy Spirit, move my life in the freedom that Jesus won for me. Let the image of Christ be formed in me by the Spirit. In Jesus name, amen.

Happy birthday, Pastor John! May God's glory on and through you increase to His glory!
May His glory be ever increased in our lives as we walk with Him daily. ♥️🙏🏻
