Day #106 - Proxy Presence
The Presence - A Devotional for Living in Thanksgiving, Worship and Wonder
“So Jesus went with them. He was not far from the house when the centurion sent friends to say to him: “Lord, don’t trouble yourself, for I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. That is why I did not even consider myself worthy to come to you. But say the word, and my servant will be healed.”
Luke 7:6-7 NIV
Have you ever had someone advocate for you before?
Its a powerful feeling to have someone stand up for you and plead for you to get help. Once I had a retired judge go and represent me over a speeding ticket in the same court room where he once practiced law. It was pretty amazing when I found out the retired judge who helped me was friends with the judge who had my case. I got a favorable outcome needless to say. I remember the incredible feeling of having someone stand up for me in my time of need.
You have the power to advocate for others to receive breakthrough in the presence of God.
There was a centurion, a Roman soldier, who sent some elders of the Jews to go advocate for Jesus to heal his servant who was sick. The centurion did not come himself, nor was his servant who needed the miracle brought to Jesus. The centurion sent word through the elders that only a word spoken by Jesus was necessary for the miracle to come to pass.
Jesus heard this and was moved by the faith of the centurion. Jesus said He hadn’t found faith like this in all Israel and He healed the servant at a distance at that moment.
You can bring people before Jesus as a person of “the Presence” and Jesus works on their behalf in miracles, signs and wonders. Everyone who comes to faith has probably had someone like the centurion mentioning their name to Jesus. If you can’t get to the presence of Jesus yourself, you can send help and He can work on your behalf.
Oh the love of Jesus and the power of approaching Him, not only for ourselves but for the needs of those that we love. When we come into His presence in prayer we may not always have much to ask for, but we probably know someone else who does have much need. Give those you love the gift of advocating for them before the presence of Jesus.
Jesus, I come before you today not only for my own needs but for those that I love. I thank you that you hear me and you can work in the lives of those who I bring before you. Thank you for the power and authority in Your word. All You have to do is speak a word to bring salvation, healing and freedom to those I bring before You. You are good! In Your name, amen.

"Everyone who comes to faith has probably had someone like the centurion mentioning their name to Jesus."Oh yes - the power of a believer's advocacy - thank You, Lord! ⚔🙏🕊❤
Once again truly awesome message
